Problems installing X Development packages

Hi, I'm using Red Hat 8.0 and want to install the Blackbox window manager, but I get 'Blackbox requires the X Window System libraries and headers' when I run ./configure. So, I tried installing the X Development packages using Red Hat's package management system. The problem is that I get a packages not found error. The unlocatable packages are:

netpbm = 9.24-6 (required by netpbm-devel)
XFree86-libs = 4.2.0 (required by XFree86-devel).

The thing is, I have newer versions of these packages installed (XFree86-libs-4.2.1-21 and netpbm-9.24-9.80.2). What can I do? Thanx for any help.

I recommend apt4rpm or Red Carpet for much easier software management with dependency resololution. Check them out.
