Problems installing "Work_filemangement" program

Hi,
I am trying to install the program Worker" which is file mangement program.
The first thing it tells you to do is run "./configure".

However at the end it says
"configure: error: The C++ compiler doesn't work or doesn't exists at all!

* Check your C++ installation (many distributions have a separate *
* package for the C++ compiler).

I have checked for GCC and it is present, at that least I believe so.
I do not think C++ is installled.

I do not have the cd' s for this installation. So I can not just put the cd in and load it.

Do I have a problem here. I do not want to continue with next step , I do not want to have to ask how do I remove my screwupl.
