problems installing mysql binaries

Hi everyone

I seem to be having real problems installing the binaries for mysql 4.1. Whe I try to run the mysql_install_db script i get the following:

./scripts/mysql_install_db: line 1: ./bin/my_print_defaults: Permission denied
Could not find help file 'fill_help_tables.sql' in ./support-files or inside ..

The permissions for my_print_defaults seem just fine, and the help file it refers to is definately there.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated

Are you running the script as root, and what exactly are the permissions for the file?
