problems installing MPlayer

Hi,
I'm trying to install MPlayer (I'm installing the common player, the gui and the skins all together.I tried doing them seperately but they wouldn't begin to install like that) but I get these warnings :
[root@localhost LudDL]# rpm -ivh mplayer-common-0.90-1.i386.rpm mplayer-gui-0.90-1.i386.rpm mplayer-skin-default-1.0-2.noarch.rpm
warning: only V3 signatures can be verified, skipping V4 signature
warning: only V3 signatures can be verified, skipping V4 signature
warning: only V3 signatures can be verified, skipping V4 signature
Preparing... ########################################### [100%]
1:mplayer-common ########################################### [ 33%]
2:mplayer-gui ########################################### [ 67%]
3:mplayer-skin-default ########################################### [100%]
[root@localhost LudDL]#

and it looks from this like it hasn't installed completely. Is that true?
What are V3 and V4 signatures ?
Does anyone know what's going wrong?

PS I'm installing the RPM packages for RedHat Linux 7.x,even though I'm running RH8 with a 2.4.20 kernel. Will that cause problems?

It just that I'm not sure how to create the MPlayer from the source files.I thought installing the rpm's would be easier.Just like everything I try in Linux,it ends up with major problems.I don't think there is one thing that I have installed that has gone smoothly or without a major hitch that requires at least 10 hours to fix.

Any help,much appreciated

Ludwig

Well it looks like your in there. If your not sure if an rpm installed or not you can always do:

rpm -qa | grep mplayer

In your case it should spit back:

mplayer-common
mplayer-gui
mplayer-skin-default

Just because the signatures could not be verified doesn't mean the packages won't install.
