Problems installing Mozilla Sunbird on FC3 x86_64

Hello all,

I am trying to install Mozilla Sunbird on my FC3 system, which is also an AMD64 (x86_64) machine. I have installed the 64-bit version of FC3.

When I run Sunbird, I get the following error:

Code:
[jeremy@dante sunbird]$ ./sunbird

./sunbird-bin: error while loading shared libraries: libXp.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
However, I do indeed have this libXp.so.6 file installed--

Code:
[jeremy@dante sunbird]$ locate libXp.so.6
/usr/X11R6/lib64/libXp.so.6
/usr/X11R6/lib64/libXp.so.6.2
I think that the problem is that Sunbird is looking in the wrong place for this file and not finding it. How can I tell Sunbird where to look for the libraries it needs?

I have used Google and scoured the newsgroups looking for an answer for about a week. It is probably a simple solution, but I am just not finding it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerey,
Jeremy

After some further adventures with Google, I found the solution to this problem, which may not be specific to only x86_64 systems. Apparently, the libraries needed by Sunbird have been depreciated and need to be installed wtih the command:

yum install xorg-x11-deprecated-libs

This fixed my problem and now Sunbird runs just fine. Hope this helps someone. Thanks for the reply I did get.

Cheers,
Jeremy
