Problems installing Gaim

I often use Msn and there for i want to install Gaim on my Mandrake 10.0 official.
I can use amsn but with that i can't use IRC.

I downloaded Gaim Source and unzipped it. When that was finished i used the console for

./configure

at the end of the check, did the porg say that i missed GTG+ so i downloaded it form www.gtk.org but when i did use ./configure on GTK+ did it say that i was missing glib. Then i downloaded glib from gtk.org (this getting irritating) but when i did ./configure did it do a check, but this time didn't i get a "problem" mess. so i steeped on to make install. Then i thought finally. BUT NOO...... when i did gtk check did the same problem come up after ./configure.

PLZ help me I'm lost
be nice to give me help with the install ( all glib gtk)
how i should install then, where to begin.
and give me the commands i shout use and when

Get your mandrake 10 CDs out again and look for RPM packages for glib and gtk that have "devel" or "dev" in their name, like "gtk-devel-2.x". You need to install those 'development' packages to be able to compile software that depends on them. After that, run Gaim's configure script again, it should work

In case you are interested there is a MSN clone out there.
I personally use GAIM, but my only accoutns are with AIM and ICQ

you can find the clone here:
http://amsn.sourceforge.net/

I have heard that it is much better for MSN than GAIM.

(I had a similar problem installing GAIM in SuSe, before I switched to Mandrake... so I feel for ya..)
