problems copying CDs in K3b

i'm using K3b under Mandriva 2006 (free) to create me CDs but i can't copy them. i can create CDs with data, as well as audio and the mixed types but when i want to copy ANY CD the button 'start' is not active and therefore, i can't copy them. i tried different settings and permisson atributes but it doesn't help. please someone 'enlighten' me as to why it doesn't work. the funny thing is that although Mandriva is my primary system, i sometimes use xp and under nero 6.0 i'm having the same problem - the copy button is not active.
already grateful

I run Slackware-current and noticed the same behavior on one of my boxes. Before I had a chance to really investigate, there was an upgrade to K3B in -current (about 2 months ago) and the problem was resolved.

I don't remember exactly the version I was using when I noticed the problem, but I am using K3B-0.12.14 now.

Judging by the changelog, it was likely K3B-0.12.10.

I have no idea if this had anything really to do with the upgrade of K3B or some other system change that happened with the same update.
