Problem With Wine - Error 1627


i recently crashed my system and had to reinstall from disk
i now have Ubuntu ultimate 1.8 which come with wine installed
before i did anything i changed the root c drive destination and then put a Macromedia CD in to install flash
every time i try and install i get "An error occurred while installing the package. Windows installer returned '1627'."
this has happed a few times but i had no problems with it before i reinstalled, flash and the rest of the bundle installed and worked fine
can anyone help

Hi there,

Are you sure that you had no other windows emulator, like CrossOver?

If this is not the case, what kind of program are trying to install? I believe wine does not support every .exe applications. You might just have an application that is not supported by wine.

Otherwise, give us a bit more details on what exactly you wish to do.

Wine Is Not an Emulator :P remember that
I'm not using any other compatibility platform, no. maybe i should
i am just running the autorun.exe which opens the main installer menu.
i know it works because I have done it before, before i reinstalled i had the entire suite working, all installed in the same way that i am trying to install this one.
maybe i'm missing a system file that i had before??
