Problem with Wine...

Finally Wine runs Neoragex, but the keyboard doesn't work, I should do any extra config???

If this is a game you would get much better results with winex

really most people here are not experts with wine in fact some members disdain it, you might have much better results finding a wine forum i think there is one at winehq.com or else there will be a link to one on there somewhere good luck

What, that means people shouldn't ask for help with Wine here? Some people aren't experts with/disdain KDE, or Java, or RedHat, but that doesn't mean questions about them aren't welcome.

Red Guy - I'm not familiar with Neoragex - what is it? Which installation method are you using for Wine (RPM, compiled from source, etc.)?

im not saying he shouldnt ask it simply that there may be better resources than this forum his problem seems to be very specific and not just a "general wine" issue which makes me think no one here will know it, i am not aware of any members who are truly experts with wine as compared to most other issues in linux, if there are then please correct me

Neoragex is a NeoGeo emulator (is the fastest emulator in Windows) and now runs perfectly, but the keyboard don't works (only works when I press Ctrl+C to force to close the program), and I'm using the RPM, first I tried compiling it (I don't like RPM, I use it like a last resource), but show me a lot of errors and finally I installed the RPM, I try compiling Winex, but a lot of errors like the conventional Wine :(

please post the errors
that's weird that it's taking keyboard input but does nothing with it. Maybe you don't have focus on the proper window or maybe because it has to go through 3 layers: original code: emulator: wine

I'm happy to support Wine here, as long as the people aren't attempting to do things way out of their skill level. In general you should stick to compiling the releases, CVS is a bit harder.

A couple possibilities I can think of... First, make sure Wine is running full-screen, and that DX mouse grab is turned on (not sure whether that makes a difference, but it'll make sure that Wine has the focus).

It may also be that whatever method Neoragex uses for keyboard input is not yet supported by Wine. I've had some applications that just refused to take keyboard input for whatever reason. Let's hope this isn't the problem though!

Hmm, you know, if you can still control-C to get out of it, it sounds like your keyboard input is still going to the console. (Are you running it from console? If so, try running it without a console. If not, nevermind). Or perhaps it's a configuration issue with Neoragex, rather than Wine?

If you haven't already, try searching around on the wine knowledgebase at winehq.com. It's practically impossible to find anything there, but occasionally you can find good information.
