problem with vlc player

I m using RHEL 4. I downloaded latest vlc player and tried to install it .It shows following error:
Missing header file: ffmpeg/avcodec.h

Plz help me to get out of this problem.

I install ffmpeg and then tried to insatll vlc. It now shows the following error:

what now to do??

well, for debian this header is contained in the package 'libpostproc-dev'. Not sure if this info is useful for red hat, but isn't there a place for red hat where you can lookup which package contains file xyz ?
