Problem with the rpm package !!

Hi,

Can anyone help with this issue as I need to solve it as early as possible. I get an error when I try to run a perl program which involves rpm packages or when I try to query the installed rpm's in the system. The error details are as follows :

# rpm -qa | grep perl
/usr/lib/rpm/rpmq: relocation error: /usr/lib/librpmdb-4.2.so: undefined symbol: poptSaveInt

I'm unable to delete or install any more rpm's in my machine. Please help.

Thanks,
Sadiq

I would think you would be able to find the answer to your problem in here somewhere:

It looks like your rpm is busted. Besides doing some kind of piggy-back install from another partition, the only way to fix this is to reinstall your OS :-(
