problem with tar
 

hi
i tarred a file and now have a problem with untarring it
i use command:
tar -r file.tar /home

i get :
tar: /dev/rmt/0: Device busy

what is wrong? and how to untar?

I'm not sure what -r means :). You could always type "man tar" at the terminal to find out how to use tar. Please, take a look into the following thread where I try to explain a way of backing up /restoring Linux using tar command.
