Problem with sound on Lenovo N100 Laptop

I have just installed Sabayon Linux on my laptop, and I have a problem with making sound work.

I read somewhere that I have to remove the built in ALSA drivers, and install the updated ones by my own.

Maybe anyone had a similar problem? The sound card is Intel High Definition Audio.

And how can I remove the ALSA from the kernel and install this package by my own?

Thanks in advance!

same problem

I'm having the same issue with SuSE 10.2 Linux. The good news is that it dual boots with Vista if you use the Vista utility to reduce its partition size. (at least with Vista Business) Other then that, it runs pretty well.
