Problem with Ser Service Status: ser dead but subsys locked
 

ser status shows "ser dead but subsys locked"

Anyone knows what this means and how to resolve it?

Same thing hapend to me while trying to configure dovecot. It doesn't show any error when i start the service, it even writes [OK] when it's finished but when i query it's status it says dovecot dead but subsys locked. I tried deleting the subsys file but then it just registered the process as stopped and when i turned it back on, there was the same problem.

I will try updating or recompiling the applocation and hope it gets fixed by itself, but i'm not putting my hopes on this one.

So if anyone can offer any help, it would be greatly apreciated.

Problem solved
 

Aparrently there was a problem in the config file. This is what i did

i stopped the service
i restored my old config file
i started the service

This seems to have done the trick.
