Whenever I attempt to start KDE, I get a "$DISPLAY" error, which doesn't make sense, because $DISPLAY is blank by default until X starts. Gnome/X11 start fine, only KDE has this problem. I'm running RedHat build 9 under VMware 3.1.1.
I upgraded... it fixed a couple bugs I was having in X11, but KDE still doesn't start... still getting the "$DISPLAY is not set" error. I also tried kdeinit; no luck...
