Question Problem with installing bttv module

I compile my kernel as mention in the README file
You'll need at least these config options for bttv:
video4linux support (CONFIG_VIDEO_DEV)

and every thing was fine but when I try to install the Driver this error occurs

[lakshan@L-NET bttv-0.9.11]$ make
make -C /lib/modules/2.4.20-8custom/build SUBDIRS=/home/lakshan/TV/bttv-0.9.11 modules
make: *** /lib/modules/2.4.20-8custom/build: No such file or directory. Stop.
make: *** [default] Error 2

and my TV card is PixelView PV-BT878P+ and it is included in the cardlist

by the way I donít understand this Setup your /etc/modules.conf file and let kmod load the modules. How do I load the kmod and what to include in the modules.conf file

please help me to solve this error and how to load this modules in the modules.conf file
