problem with installation of xmms on fedora core 2
This problem probably has been brought up several times before, but I was not able to find a post that targeted a solution on problem with xmms for Fedora 2. I installed GLIB-2.4.5 and tried to run configure in xmms-1.2.10. I was still getting the "configure: error: *** GLIB >= 1.2.2 not installed - please install first ***." Does anyone have any insight as to what I should do to get xmms installed on my Fedora? Thanks!

How did you install GLIB...
Bettr still: why not use the "install/uninstall" utlilty to install XMMS. It should automatically install all dependancies (that's how I did it and it's working perfectly)

Did you install glib from source?? or did you use a rpm??
I recommend you to install apt-get and synaptic (frontend for apt-get), get some repositories and as long as you can, avoid compiling.
A quick solution could be to use ./configure --disable-glib-test (or similar, do a ./configure --help to see)
