problem with gmplayer

when I try to start gmplay the program returns the following error:

Code:
[skin] error in skin config file on line 29: unknown message: evEqualizer
When I'm starting a movie with mplayer it works fine, but I cannot start gmplayer. Any ideas?

Welcome to LQ.

Try removing the skins directory and reinstalling the default skin:
http://www1.mplayerhq.hu/MPlayer/Skin/Blue-1.1.tar.bz2

I've made a lot of tries. $PREFIX/share/mplayer/Skin/default/ must be the directory where must be put the files, right?

Code:
root@ThunderBird:~# ls /usr/local/share/mplayer/Skin/default/
README barfwd.png barzoom.png icons minimize.png pos.png skin symbols2.png
VERSION barmute.png eqb.png load.png mute.png prefs.png skinb.png symbolsg.fnt
about.png barplay.png exit.png main-silver.png next.png prev.png stop.png zoom-3.png
bareqb.png barrev.png font-pl.png main.png play.png progres-long2c.png subblue.png
barexit.png barrevv.png font.fnt menu.png playbar.png progres-long2d.png subload.png
barffwd.png barstop.png forward.png menus.png playlist.png rev.png symbols.fnt
This is the directory containing the default skin. Please correct me if must be other.

That should be right - did you reinstall the skin there?

If you still have problems then try commenting out line 29 of the skin file.

heh - not exactly useable.

What version of mplayer are you using is it an offical download from:
http://www.mplayer.hu

Perhaps you could try a different skin as a test - Proton is quite good.
