Unhappy Problem with .forward and procmail

I'm using SpamAssasin - have been successfully for some time - on our SuSE 9.1 mail server. I've set up the usual .forward and .procmailrc files in each user's home dirs. These files are identical for every user apart from the username at the end of the .forward file - eg,

"|IFS=' ' && exec /usr/bin/procmail || exit 75 #webvivant"

The .forward file has permissions 644. The thing is, this set-up is working on every user account except one, and it's driving me batty. I tried a recipe in that user's .procmailrc that would redirect all mail to a different place, just to see if procmail was being invoked, and it looks like it isn't. So can anyone think of anything that would make the .forward process not work on only one user account, when it works fine on all the others?
