Problem with charset on Suse

hi all,

I make the install of Open Suse, and i having some problems to configure charset. When i go to shell and i execute the wget (for example), appears this:

HTTP requisição enviada, aguardando resposta... 200 OK

but the correct string would be this:

HTTP requisição enviada, aguardando resposta... 200 OK

I hav to use CHARSET=ISO-8859-1 and the LANG=pt.BR.iso8859-1 but i dont know where i hav to configure this.

comment: my default language is portuguese BR

They're related to your "locale" settings.
See "man 1 locale", "man 5 locale".

Locale settings are used for international language support.
They're mostly governed by some environment variables, like LC_LANG.

You could try setting LC_LANG for instance in your /etc/profile file (applies to all users, all shells).

However, doesn't your system settings menu provide you with an option to set the language for your system?
My RH8 box gives me such an option.
