problem with amarok

I installed the latest Amarok on my Ubuntu 9.02 (i think thats right) computer, and I can't seem to get it to work. With the older version I simply, clicked on the Files tab on the left side, went to where the music was, and dragged songs to the playlist. I can't figure out how to do that in the new version. I've tried a couple different things and none do the trick. Thanks.

When you say it doesn't work, does that mean it doesn't load, it won't actually make sound, you can't load your library or something else?

I can see the songs, but if I drag one to the playlist or click on one, nothing happens.

It's a well-known problem. Try
Code:
sudo aptitude install libxine1-ffmpeg
It's on this page:
http://amarok.kde.org/wiki/MP3
cheers,

Yup. Glad it's working. mp3 still under copyright or patent or whatever, but only for a little while longer. I convert all mp3's to ogg anyway. Same quality less space.
Cheers,
jdk
