Problem while installing redhat linux 9

hi everyone,
I encountered an error while installing redhat linux 9 on a new machine
the error message says no hard devices found, the mother board is of intel original, 915 and hard drive is 40 gb sata enabled (Seagate made)

can anyone tell me whats the problem and how to overcome it

thanks in advance

Perhaps Red Hat 9 is too old (> 2 years old) for your hardware. Perhaps try Fedora Core or some other distribution.

hi

Try to get a SATA driver . put it on a floppy

1st on BIOS put RAID enable if have more than one disk .

2nd On the installation menu write 'linux dd' this will install RH9 and request you for the driver . Put floppy in and then carry on with the installation
