Problem while booting Fedora 6 on System with SATA harddisk

Hi Friends,

I have a Desktop with Intel Pentium D processor and 160GB SATA harddisk.

I have installed Fedora core 6 successfully and made the system dual bootable with windows xp and fedora.

When i try to boot fedora normally it gave me the following error.

mount: could not found filesystem /dev/root

I tried modifying the grub loader entry:

module /vmlinuz-2.6.18-1.2798.fc6xen ro root=LABEL=/ rhgb quiet

I removed the "quiet" argument and was successful to go further in booting process but it while detecting the hard disk using sata_sil driver it gave me the error:

failed to IDENTIFY

Any insights for this problem will b greatly appreciated.
