Problem using SimplyMEPIS for repartitioning Windows XP hardrive

Hi All - I have a need to repartition my Windows XP hardrive and am trying to use SimplyMEPIS_6.0_i386. When I boot my machine with the Linux live CD I get an error message: "Can't startup file system - Halting..."

Has anyone else experienced this problem before - any thoughts?

Thanks, Brad

Hi bradcecil!
So, you're using Mepis live. OK. When do you get that "Can't startup file system - Halting..." message? After your Mepis is up and running and you want to mount the drive, or when you're trying to boot up Mepis, or when you're trying to manage the partitions or when? What kind of Hard drive do you have (ATA, SATA, SCSI)? What kind of partitions does that contain?
In your post you did let us know you have a problem, but you didn't include the circumstances, so next time you post a thread, please provide as much info about your problem as much you can, becouse if we know exactly what is the problem, than we will be able to help you. Thanks.

Sounds like the CD - presumably unable to even get started.
But pusrob is correct - we need more (better) info.
