Problem using 5.1 (ALSA) output with Kaffeine/XINE

I have a 5.1 capable sound card (Intel ICH5 driver, Realtek AC'97). I am using the Monsters Inc. THX 5.1 test, and everything works fine except for the right rear surround speaker. Every other speaker plays fine except that one. I did some switching of cables, and it works when it's plugged into the rear left plug on my subwoofer, so I don't think it's a hardware issue.

XINE engine parameter for device.alsa_passthrough_device:
Code:

iec958:AES0=0x6,AES1=0x82,AES2=0x0,AES3=0x2
I'm using Mepis (Debian testing/unstable) with Kernel 2.6.10

You've verified it's not a problem with the speaker you have not eliminated a hardware issue. When you switched, did you unhook the cables at the speaker side? Make sure you eliminated a bad cable. Also, do you have a working system under which you can test your subwoofer?

I tested out everything under windows (:() and all speakers work fine, so it is definately not a hardware issue. I am sure now, it is an issue either with XINE or ALSA, but can anyone help me?
