Problem updating to latest Kernal using up2date, internet stops working

I used up2date to get the latest kernal version which was 2.6.12-1.1381_FC3 , but when I rebooted with this, I had no internet functionality. If I choose the old one, 2.6.10-1.766_FC3, then internet works. Is this a common problem? Thanks.

Strange.. Actually the new kernel usually should have the old kernel configuration. Try this:

Open a terminal and type

Code:

su

You'll be asked for your root password at this point. Then type

Code:

yum update kernel

(while using the old kernel, not the newer one).

And actually it's weird, the latest kernel version is 2.6.15, 2.6.12 is definitely outdated.

Hello Ahmed.

I typed "yum update kernal", and it went through it's process, but at the end it stated:

"Could not find update match for Kernal"
"No packages marked for update/obseletion"

Then I tried up2date again, and it had no updates either.
