Run it as root.

I did logon not using 'root' account. How to ensure that I can call it, using other account?

you also might want to change the name of the thread

the IDE Eclipse has noting to do with a "batch" process

but i am betting you forgot to make that script executable
Code:
su -
cd to_the_location_of_the_file
chmod +x NameOfTheProgram

AFter having done this

[root@CentOS65x64 applications]# pwd
/usr/share/applications
[root@CentOS65x64 applications]# chmod +x Eclipse.sh
[root@CentOS65x64 applications]#

I still get the same problem

ok, so please execute in /usr/share/applications:
Code:
ls -l Eclipse.sh
head Eclipse.sh
bash -xv Eclipse.sh
and post the output

also the text files in " /usr/share/applications" should be "*.desktop" files

a special format for program launchers

normal everyday shell scripts should be in /usr/bin

and again a launcher for a IDE is not a "batch" process
