Problem to IP address


Hi,
Can I know what is going wrong below

C:\Users\Peter>nslookup 113.255.249.113
DNS request timed out.
timeout was 2 seconds.
Server: UnKnown
Address: 113.255.249.247

DNS request timed out.
timeout was 2 seconds.
*** Request to UnKnown timed-out

which I get on one Windows 8 machine, while "113.255.249.113" is one Linux red hat server?

as I also have got

C:\Users\Peter>ping 113.255.249.113

Pinging 113.255.249.113 with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 113.255.249.113: bytes=32 time=4ms TTL=63
Reply from 113.255.249.113: bytes=32 time=13ms TTL=63
Reply from 113.255.249.113: bytes=32 time=11ms TTL=63
Reply from 113.255.249.113: bytes=32 time=12ms TTL=63

It means your DNS server 113.255.249.247 doesn't answer.

I now check "nslookup" against IP "113.255.249.113". why does it refer to one other IP?

The other IP address is the IP address of the DNS server configured on that Windows box. Since the DNS server doesn't respond, you get the error message.

Server 113.255.249.113 is probably fine. At least you can ping it.
