Problem Starting Qmail

Hello,

I have installed qmail on redhat 9, as per instructions given on qmailrocks.

But when I start linux SVSCAN not starting when checked in ps -aux.

I found it starts after /usr/bin/svscanboot file starting.

I can start qmail only when SVSCAN starts.

Can some one help me about starting SVSCAN, I tried to put it in local file but redhat stuck when starting, so I removed svscan boot entry from local.

Deepak

Welcome to LQ!

I'm not sure I completely understand the problem, but I think you want to edit /etc/inittab and be sure you have this line somewhere in the file (probably near the bottom)...

SV:123456:respawn:/command/svscanboot

Course that is just for me. Yours might be...

SV:123456:respawn:/usr/bin/svscanboot
