Problem sending mail with KMail / ADSL router

I've just upgraded to ADSL, using an Origo ASR8100 modem / router (how did I ever use dial up?;)). Everything seems fine (and fast!) except for email, which I use with KMail 1.5. My distro is RH9 incidentally, and the router is attached to the onboard SIS900 NIC on my PC.

I have four email accounts that I use with KMail - all are pop3 / smtp accounts, using the standard settings (the providers are virgin.net, freeserve, and ic24.net), and they all are showing the same problem. I can receive email without any problem, but attempting to send mail with any of them produces the same error message: -

Sending failed:
One of the recipients was not accepted.
The server responded: "Administrative prohibition "
The message will stay in the 'outbox' folder until you either fix the problem (e.g. a broken address) or remove the message from the 'outbox' folder.
Note: Other messages will also be blocked by this message, as long as it is in the 'outbox' folder
The following transport protocol was used:
Kevin Pearson

Any help will be very much appreciated - it seems a bit pointless at the moment to receive (mostly junk) email on broadband, then have to dial up to reply! Thanks for any help.

Wha?

Did you get a bounce message? If so, post it here...it may include more information.

I think you specified the protocol wrong somewhere...I highly doubt "Kevin Pearson" is the name of a recognized mail-transport protocol.

Thanks for your reply Kurt. I've not had any bounce messages - the only message I've had is the one I've put above; nothing is going through to bounce unfortunately.
I'm definitely not a mail-transport protocol by the way!

Oddly, I've just downloaded and installed Evolution - sending and receiving seems to work perfectly with it

I spoke too soon - the only account I can send from with Evolution is the virgin.net one.

On the surface, it sounds like a configuration problem. Do you have anything in 'drafts"? That will block sending.

Now sending.....

KMail's now sending and receiving. All I did in the end was to go to Configure KMail and under Network, Sending move my ADSL ISP's outgoing account up the list to the default position. Don't know why this worked, but it has!

Thanks again for all the help folks - it's much appreciated as always, and no doubt I'll be back in due course.
