Problem sending e-mails from K-Mail client through Exchange Server

Hi there --

I am running Kontact on an OpenSuSE 10.3 system, and while I am able to receive e-mails, I am unable to send them. I have confirmed the SMTP server hostname is correct.

The error message that I am getting is shown below:

Sending failed:

Your SMTP server does not support PLAIN.
Choose a different authentication method.

The server responded: '5.7.4 Unrecognized authentication type.

How do I configure Kontact to have a different authentication method to the server? Thanks.

Under "Settings -> Configure Kmail..." choose "Accounts"
Under the tab "Sending" choose your outgoing server/account and click "Modify..."

Now check the "Server requires authentication" and under the tab "Security" click "Check what the server supports"
Now you should be able to se the supported options you have.
