Problem running the mplayer

After installing the MPlayer , when i try to run an application it is not running . Anybody who can solve it for me plz...........Thanks in advance

The error msg is

KDEInit could not launch 'gmplayer'

Could not fing 'gmplayer' executable

Iam a fresher to linux with lots of interest towards it

that just means that you didn't install MPlayer with its GUI functionality.

If you install it with its GUI functionality, you'll need to download the default skin "Blue" as well.

It doesn't really need a gui, though.

Just type into a console

Code:

mplayer <file>

and it'll play that file.
