Problem Registering with RHN
I'm trying to register with Red Hat Network, but I get an error every time I try to send in my information. When I first open the registration agent, the privacy policy never loads, it's just a blank pane and my cursor is constantly an hour glass. OK, so I know there is something funny from the get-go. After I just accept the blank agreement and enter all of my information, I tell it to send in my system info. That's when I get the error "Problem registering username" Unfortunately, it's not more descriptive.
I know the problem isn't that my username is already taken, because I registered it on redhat.com after the first couple times I got the error. After I fiddled with up2date for a little while, I got this error:
Code:

OK, so is the problem that I'm incredibly stupid and I'm doing something wrong, or is something misconfigured on my system? If so, what can I do to get up2date up and running?
:EDIT: oops, I posted this in the wrong forum. Boy do I feel like a bafoon.

My problem was related to my account on the RHN. I had the system licensed as a DEMO account previously and when I reformatted and tried re-registering it saw I already had a demo system and would not give me another. I logged into the site and deleted the profile for the previous instance of the system and gave the DEMO entitlement to the new instance. Hope this helps and good luck!

Well, you could always update your distro using apt-get/synaptic skipping the rhn which has problem quite often
apt-get dist-upgrade
will do the job. Indeed, as long as you have apt-get installed

I also am having the same problem.
I have the Professional Ed. So I can have 2 systems running redhat 9, but I cannot get it to register.
I am registered at redhat.com and I see that I have no systems showing (so I have 2 I can put on) but am unable to register via the up2date.
Any ideas?
D.

about "Problem registering username"
I had the same problm~
And I find a document can solve this problem.
1.
U can download this file:
https://rhn.redhat.com/help/new-cert.sh
to any folder.
2.
Then run this in Shell:
"bash new-cert.sh"
3.
Then run "rhn_register" again.
4.
Now U can update ur O.S.
Good luck~
