Problem on the install of Fluxbox

Hello, I will have liked to know where I can find the XFRee86-devel package. I have need at the time for the install of the fluxbox. Indeed, I have the following error in ./configure execution :
Code:

configure: error: Fluxbox requires the X Window System libraries and headers.
I already added in ld.so.conf the link towards/usr/X11R6/lib, and lauch ldconfig.

On google, I found this link indicating to me that it is well this package which I need, but impossible to find it on the official site xfree86.org, and on the net differently than in rpm.

I am on LFS and I like the tarball particularly :D
Thx for your help.

you could use apt-get/synaptic to install the package :)

Indeed, but the distribution where I would like to install this package iss't a debian, and I refuse to install a system of package (like rpm, tgz or other)

How did you initially install X? If you installed from source (LFS, I'd assume so) you should have the required libs installed as that is a 'full install'. Unless of course you cleaned out the unecessary libs afterwards, then you just have to install over the top.

Cool

Ok, I installed X from the binaries, via the installation script Xinstall.sh and doccumentation from http://www.xfree.org/4.3.0/Install.html
What do you recommend?

According to that link:
Xprog.tgz
Is the one that contains "X header files, config files and compile-time libs"

;)

http://www.xfree.org/4.3.0/Install2.html 3/4 down the page.

Cool
