Unhappy Problem launching Tor browser on Mint 17

[WARNING: I'm a bit of a newbie w/Linux}

I installed Tor a couple of weeks ago via PPA and it worked fine. Today I tried starting it up and - nothing.

I un/reinstalled and same problem. Then uninstalled and used Synaptic - same problem.

Tried using the command 'start-tor-browser' and returned 'command not found'

Vidalia starts up fine and makes a connection.

Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this?

Problem solved - sort of.

I uninstalled Tor and downloaded the tar package directly from the tor website. Unzipped it and now running fine.

Installing via PPA was touted as the easiest way to install Tor but using the tar file was just as easy.

mint, tor
