Problem launching enlightenment from kdm

Hello, I have recently installed E17 on my Mandriva 2009.1, but I've been having a lot of issues running it. Apparently, soon after kdm launches enlightenment.desktop, compiz gets launched as well, causing the "another window manager is already running" problem, so I circumvented the problem by changing enlightenment.desktop and making it run this script:

killall emerald
killall compiz
enlightenment_start -display :0

It works but I find it ugly. From within KDE4 I unchecked the "use 3D effects" option (although I got compiz up and running), so does anyone knows why compiz still launches when I'm starting a WM other than KDE? How can I prevent this from happenening?

I'm sure that compiz is not there before logging in to KDM. Launching E17 from Entrance solves the problem as well (although it breaks audio in KDE :S )
