Problem Installing Tripwire from source

Hi there --

I am trying to install Tripwire 2.4.1.2 from source onto a Fedora Core 7 system. After untarring the package, I changed to the newly created tripwire directory as root.

According to the INSTALL file, I have run the configure and make scripts as root within the tripwire directory. Once that was done, I changed to the install directory. I did not make any changes to the install.cfg file. I then ran make install.

I then tried to run the install file within tripwire and its install subdirectory. I typed in 'accept' to continue, but in both cases the following error message appeared after I had done that:

./install: line 314: ./install/install.cfg: Not a directory

What am I doing wrong, and what do I need to do to correct this and successfully install the application? Thanks.

The installer notes say you should "Edit the settings in install/install.cfg and run "make install".". It doesn't say you should "make install" and *then* run the install.sh script. Any compelling reason for not following the developers instructions? BTW, why not install tripwire-2.4.1.1-1.fc7.i386.rpm?
