7.3 problem

I purchased it Feb. 2005 on line.
I can't read the writing on the envelope.

TAMO*EHHAR
EN DUANE

I sure don't know what that is but that is part of what is on the envelope.

Thanks
Nate

It says "Second disk is damaged"....j/k

You'll have to go online and downlaod the seconfd disk and burn it again...in the meantime try to get a replacement from where you bought it from...

Any particular reason for going with RH7.3 and not a newer distro?

redhat 7.3

Not really.
I'm kinda computer dum when it comes to redhat
I am just trying to set up a system in the house that is wireless for both kids and my laptop.
I have an older computer and thought that this system would require less resources and run faster.

How much do newer versions cost?

Nothing; you can get most distros for free. You probably shouldn't have bought Red Hat 7.3, as you can download that too.

I believe you're right on the resources...

Not sure how good the laptop support was back then...:/

I suppose you could always recompile a newer kernel for it....although RH doesn't offer support for non-Fedora anymore I believe...

Odd, though...I have an old 166MMX laying around I was thinking of installing RH7.3 on for those same reasons wghen I saw your post...

One things for sure...there's prbably a boat load of info out there on that distro...

Someone said ealier that you can get this for free.
I haven't had any luck finding a free download of redhat.
Any ideas?

Current versions will run on older hardware. You just trim them to fit what you need.

No good reason to install a dinosaur like RH7.3. There are some good light current distros, or indeed I have installed mandrake 10 on P166mmx... Even with KDE...
