problem installing redhat 7.2
I am having problems installing redhat 7.2. I have done all the different type of methods of installation graphical, text, expert. It ends up freezing with a blinking box on the bottom with a whole bunch of words and letters on top. On top of the blinking box it reads: <0>Kernel panic: Attempted to kill init!......Please can anyone help me. I have a pentium 4 1.6ghz, western digital eide 40g, 258mb of ram mushkin.... PLEASE IF ANYONE CAN HELP ME IT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED...I HAVE BAGS UNDERNEATH MY EYES NOW HAHA...thank you

I'd start by pulling anything extra out of your computer .. modems, add-on cards, etc.. and I've seen some video cards cause this. Make your system as basic as you can and see if it works.. if it does.. start adding things back in, 1 by 1 until it crashes again.
You might post the exact specs on your system.. MB modem and type, video card, and anything else in your system. |
it might be the video card..its a upgrade..what type of video card should i buy???

The video card i have is a GeForce 2 mx200 32mb SDRAM 256-bit engine
