problem installing new firefox


i m facing problems installing firefox as root..


Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: XDM authorization key matches an existing client!

(firefox-bin:16360): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display:


i guess its something to do with export of display.It does install as home but i dont want to do that...

neone knowing wat to do..

Are you trying to install in text mode? If not, assuming you are trying to install as root, have you logged in X as root OR have you logged in X as a user then started a terminal then used "su" to change to root? If it is the case, make sure you weren't using "su -" but only "su".

evn tried sux- .. no sucess...

I did a search and I found this is a common bug, thus no clue how to fix it.
But take a look at this link, it's exactly the same problem but the user manage to get around starting a "linux console" instead of a shell console (look at the EDIT of the first post).
