problem installing gaim on redhat 9

hey guys.. ive decided to migrate to linux due to i hate windows LOL.. and i have been having problems installing gaim.. now i was on the gaim home page.. and apparently to fix the SSl- support pop up when trying to log into MSN i have to download the gaim redhat9 rpm file..
iam somewhat of a newbie to linux.. but this is bothering me.. i get this when i try to install the RPM

warning: gaim-0.79-0rh9.i386.rpm: V3 DSA signature: NO KEY, key ID 883c1c14

error: Failed dependencies:
gtkspell is needed by gaim-0.79-0rh9
libao is needed by gaim-0.79-0rh9
libao.so.2 is needed by gaim-0.79-0rh9
libgtkspell.so.0 is needed by gaim-0.79-0rh9
libtk8.3.so is needed by gaim-0.79-0rh9

and then it exits.. sorry for the stupid question but what do i need to get this working

gaim should be included on the installation cd's if i remeber correctly. go to add or remove applications and try installing it that way. it might solve the dependencies for you.

libgtkspell.so.0 is needed by gaim-0.79-0rh9
libtk8.3.so is needed by gaim-0.79-0rh9
these are normal, and called dependency's

before we continue... are you installing gaim off your redhat 9 cd's like buffed recomends ?
if so, then stop. somewhere between redhat9 and now, boh MS and Yahoo changed there chat protol. (yahoo quite recontly) so you MUST use the very latest version if you want to use either yahoo or MSN. (download from http://gaim.sourceforge.net)

okay... back to the missing dependency's
basically, these are other programs and library's that for whatever reason, either you or redhat, decided not to install on your system, (no problem, you cant install everything right !)

so first, you need to install these dependency's search for them on your redhat CD's if they are not there, you can get them from rpmfind.net.

once all the dependency's are installed, gaim will install.

edit: oh yeah, and ignore the "warning : NO KEY" error message, this is just saying that RPM was unable to verify the origin of the rpm using an encryption key....
unless you are working for nassa, and installing gaim on the same machine used to controll a dooms-day device.. this is not a problem.

kurrupt, goto http://rpm.pbone.net/ and search for all of those packages. The libao.so. file is in the libao package, what you need to do is get

gtkspell
libao
libgtkspell.so.0 and libtk8.3.so may be included in the gtkspell packages too...

Get those two packages, install them, and try to reinstall gaim. If you are still missing one of the .so files, search for the name in the link I gave you, and it will find packages that the file is included in.
