I use FC4 on a Dell Inspiron 3800 laptop and have also installed it on an Inspiron 600m. No problems with graphical installs.

I can only suggest you confirm your ISO downloads have good checksums and that when you burn them, you verify the data written to the disks. If that works and you get a graphical install, also opt for checking the data integrity when asked.

Hi vidya75

FC4 by default loads with a graphical envirioment, so try to press 'e' on grub's screen to edit the boot sequence, follow the intructions and finally remove the word 'RHGB' which stands for "REDHAT Graphical Boot" from the parameters in the vmlinuz line.

If that works you'll have to edit the file /boot/grub/grub.conf and remove it from there to make permanent.

Hope this helps.
