Problem installing ati driver on FC3

I'm completely new to Linux and I'm having trouble installing xorg 6.8 drivers on Fedora Core 3. I have a Radeon 9700 pro. I followed the instructions and it seemed to install properly with no errors but when I ran fglrxinfo it was still mesa3d. I have been trying to get it to work for about a week. Without them even the screen saver runs badly.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

HI!

In your x-server-config file find:

Option "UseInternalAGPGART" "no"

and chane it to:

Option "UseInternalAGPGART" "yes"

--------------------------------------------------------------
Should works :-)

But i have another problem:

A have just installed ATI Driver for Radeon 9200 on Warty according these instructions:
http://xoomer.virgilio.it/flavio.st...-installer.html

Everything looks good, except:
- when i want to login as different user on X'windows - usigng GDM - Ubuntu goes out => screen goes black and that's all - i have to restert my machine,

- when i go to concole using for example CTRL+ALT+F2, and i want return to X'window - - it's also hangs up: I can see my Desktop, but i cant' move cursor of my mice, i can't use my keyboard, and on the top of the screen - i can see strange thing - sth. like blur top of the windows of applicacion which is not working.

A can't find any advice for dissolve this problem ..

Thanks for your reply but it's still mesa3d after trying that. Why do the ati xorg 6.8 drivers create a file called XF86Config-4? Doesn't make sense to me.
