my os is RHEL 4, i install yum form donwloaded yum*.src.rpm, during install having error "cannot create folder on /usr/src/redhat/SOURCES" , than i manually create 2 folder "redhat" and "SOURCES" on /usr/src/ there. i install again, but this time the error diffrence "warning user skvidal does not exist... I am using root account to install. When i key yum than the message " There was a problem importing one of the python modules required to run yum. The error leading to this problem was: No module named yum
Please install a package which provides this module, or verify that the module is installed correctly.

... note: if you are using RHEL, then you should be using up2date. If not, you should consider moving to CentOS (or something else with as-good community support) instead.
