Sorry , present iam in the office, iam unable to post the error message,Biut i can explain what is happening.

i have executed ./configure what u have specified to do as earlier.

it is going for verification of all dependencies including gcc version. and giving messages "no" when verifying Gcc
" some message Gcc: no"
" some message Gcc: no"
" some message Gcc: no"
" some message Gcc: no"
after that it is unable to configure bcoz of Gcc is not available in the $path.

regards

you need a compilerl. chances are you installed fedora without the development packages. you can try to get them from your install cd. i'm not sure the correct way of installing all the development packages after the fact, but you could try to mount the install cd and install everything in the development directory on the cd (i don't know if there actually is a directory on the cd named development so you'll have to look on your own).

you could also try to install the rpms from this place:

http://cambuca.ldhs.cetuc.puc-rio.br/xine/

the main packages you'll need is libxine1-1 (either the i586 or i686 version), xine-ui, and libdvdcss. don't the files with the extension *.src.rpm as you don't have a compiler. just get the regular *.rpm files. if you want quicktime/windows media support, download and install the win32 codecs. you can also get real player if you want.

to install rpm files, use:

rpm -ivh file1.rpm file2.rpm ...
