Problem in using and starting DB2

Hi there,

I have installed DB2 V8.1 on RedHat Linux 8.0. There was no problem while installing it. But whenever I tried to start DB2, it shows message -
The database shared memory set cannot be allocated.
SQL1032N No start database manager command was issued SQLSTATE=57019.

If I try to query DB2 instance and other configuration parameter, the information is correctly received. But this problem is not helping to make things move forward.

Does anybody has any idea about this.

Thanks in advance,
Shitij

You probably did this but might be worth asking; did you configure the kernel shared memory and semaphore parameters before you installed DB2 ? You can probably change them after the fact if you didn't before you installed DB2.

Hope this helps,

Colm.
