Problem in installing a gaussian03.tgz file on my redhat 8.0

I bought a complied gaussian 03 software which had two files pgi.tgz and g03.tgz, I then untar them by tar -C/ -xzpvf pgi.tgz, (so that it untars it in /opt), and tar -C/opt -zxpvf g03.tgz ( so that it untars in /opt).

I was given some instructions but they were not full, given to me was that it requires a group in /etc/group, but I have no idea what this group is and how would that be created???

Next thing was to change the owner which i did by: chown -Rh root.g03 /opt/g03

the next thing was to edit the path to configure it to a proper path by : edit /opt/g03/bsd/g03.??? (enviourment script) which I don't know how to do?????

the next thing is setup, which I don't know how to do???

I GOT THE INSTRUCTIONS WITH THE SOFTWARE BUT THEY ARE NOT CLEAR AND ALSO I DON'T HAVE MUCH EXPERIENCE IN LINUX SO I WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE CAN HELP ME WITH THIS.... I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE THAT!!!!
