Try disabling glx and or dri, comment out the lines
Load "glx"
Load "dri"
and remove the DRI block from the botton of the /etc/X11/XFree86-4 file.

I'm just getting unknown post ID's from those addresses. Try restoring dri and the dri block and just leaving glx out. ( also try it the other way around. )

Any time I comment out one of those things, I get more errors than with them left in. I edited my other post to include links to the log files that should work for everyone..
If anyone has any ideas I'd appreciate it.. Someone mentioned to me on IRC that you need to install the nvidia drivers and use those rather than the ones that come with the kernel.. could that be it based on the errors?

Well, problem was fixed. Wasn't aware that after you manually edit the config file dpkg-reconfigure wont touch it.
dpkg --purge --force-all xserver-xfree86
apt-get install xserver-xfree86
That solved the problem, I should note that the problem arrived after doing a dist-upgrade and kernel upgrade, so that's probably where the problem stemmed from.

Glad you got it working, Setting up X is probably the trickest thing there is, as so much has to be right for it to work
