Problem getting Suse 9.2 to change installation source

My problem has to do with a new Sony dvd I just installed. It seems that Suse Linux 9.2 Pro will only partialy recognize that dvd as new hardware, but will NOT allow it to become the source of installation. Error reading: Unable to create install source from url.dvd:// media:mount failed. Yet I can go to YAST-Hardware and it will give me a complete string to media mount dvd recorder!!What gives? Should I take it out and reinstall the Teac cd reader, which Suse will probably give me trouble with now that I removed it! Ironically, the WinXP drive I have(I have 2 harddrives) will work wonders with it!
