What distribution are you using? The most common set of compilers for Linux seems to be the GNU family (gcc, g++, etc). On a debian based distribution installation of the compiler(s) is relatively easy.
sudo apt install build-essential
or alternatively
sudo apt-get install build-essential

If this is not your problem then please be more specific.

Have you checked this log? Have you checked what compilers are on your system?
